This month we yarn about healthy living with the fittest woman in current affairs, our very own Ms Karla Grant.

What do you do to keep fit and stay in shape?
I train at the gym at least six days a week. I do a lot of cardio work, including boxing and strength training with weights along with a couple of spin (exercise bike) classes. I also love to run long distance and do at least one 10km run each week.

What are your favourite fruits and vegetables?
Because I’m a vegetarian, I eat a lot of fruit and vegies. My favourite fruits are strawberries, papaya and avocado and I munch on carrots and celery sticks during the day.

Why do you choose to stay away from the durries?
I like to stay fit and healthy for my training.

What do you do when you’re feeling down?
I usually ring up my closest friends and talk about whatever is bothering me and I find that helps to clear my mind.

Do you visit your doctor or AMS for regular health check-ups?
Yes, I have a GP at my local medical centre who I see regularly to keep up-to-date with any check-ups I might need.
