Northern Territory’s Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education has been named a national finalist for the ‘Large Training Provider of the Year’ award.

This is in recognition of the Batchelor Institute – a nationally registered training organisation (RTO) – demonstrating outstanding achievement in all aspects of the delivery of employment enabling Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs for Indigenous Australians.

Batchelor Institute is one of the largest registered training organisations in Australia and delivers VET and Higher Education programs for Indigenous students, and successfully collaborates with industry partners for workplace based training.

The Institute caters to the most culturally diverse and remote communities in the Northern Territory, while providing a culturally safe learning environment at various locations, to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Batchelor Institute VET Business lecturer, Evelyn Schaber, is proud of the recognition for the hard work the Institute does.

“Being nominated for this award is like the icing on the cake. Batchelor Institute has proved a very valuable vehicle for our people all over Australia in achieving their aspirations.”

Not only that, they recently won the Northern Territory ‘Training Provider of the Year’ at the peak national awards for the VET sector, recognising individuals, businesses and registered training organisations for their contribution to skilling Australia.
