The 14th annual Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander awards will be raising the roof at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on Thursday, October 9, 2008, as the cream of black Australia comes together to celebrate Indigenous excellence in music, sport, entertainment and community achievement.
Starring on the Deadlys stage in 2008 will be the internationally acclaimed Gurrumul Yunupingu, the captivating Jessica Mauboy and the legendary Jimmy Little. They’ll be joined by host Luke Carroll and an impressive array of Indigenous celebrities and high achievers, including Olympian Benn Harradine, league sensation Greg Inglis, singer/songwriter Dan Sultan and Helpmann Award-winner Leah Purcell.
Even if you can’t make it to Sydney this year you can still be a part of what promises to be a truly spectacular show, as the Deadlys will be going out across Australia on radio, online and on television, ensuring that everyone around the country gets to share the Deadly excitement!
Radio listeners can catch the show LIVE on their local Indigenous or community radio station, with the show being broadcast from 7pm on the National Indigenous Radio Service and Community Radio Network.
