Natalie Ahmet NITV News (NSW)
Natalie Ahmat is an Executive Producer at NITV News. Natalie has 10 years broadcast media experience, as a news presenter, reporter, documentary filmmaker, producer, and radio broadcaster. In 2003, Natalie moved to Alice Springs to work as an on-the-road reporter for Imparja National News. She then joined the media team at the then-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (ATSIC), presenting, co-producing and reporting for the ATSIC Radio program. Natalie returned to the ABC in 2005, this time behind the camera, as a researcher and associate producer at ABC’s Message Stick program. Natalie is proud of her diverse family heritage – on her paternal grandmother’s side, she is descended from the Mudburra people, from near Wave Hill in the Northern Territory, as well as having some German ancestry, while on her grandfather’s side she is Torres Strait Islander (Mabuiag Island) and Malayan.
Kevin Ebsworth Top End Aboriginal

Born and Breed in Wilcannia in Western NSW, Kevin Ebsworth has worked hard to achieve his goals in broadcasting. He works at Top End Aboriginal Broadcasting Association (TEABBA) Radio. A man of energy and humour who is also humble and thankful to those who have supported him, Kevin has been involved in teaching school students in Albury about Aboriginal culture and playing the didgeridoo. He says he loves an adventure and a challenge.
Brooke Boney Koori Radio (NSW)
Brooke Boney is a producer and co-presenter at Koori Radio (Gadigal Information Services). Her passion for journalism and the media steered her towards completing a Bachelor of Arts in Communications majoring in Journalism at the University of Technology, Sydney. She started at Koori Radio as a volunteer producer on the Blackchat program in 2010 and now produces and presents the Koori Radio Brekky Show. Brooke’s family are from the Deadbird Mission in Ashford and the Toomelah Mission but she grew up in the Hunter Valley in a small town called Muswellbrook.
Evelyn Lowah Cairns FM 89.1(QLD)
Evelyn Lowah is a respected Torres Strait Islander and popular Christian radio presenter in Cairns. She plays Gospel music and talks with local people about what’s going on in their community. She has become something of a minor celebrity in her home town and hosts a number of different programs around Cairns. Born in Darwin during the war years, she was evacuated with her mother on a hospital ship to Brisbane and grew up in Pimpama.
Damien Hampton
Umeewarra Media (SA)
Damien joined Umeewarra in January 2012 where he was called upon to coordinate an ear health project, which involved two shows aimed at children and parents with young kids. He has since built up Listen Ear into a popular show that contains positive health messages and lots of cultural content, including enabling local Elders and role models to tell their stories. Prior to broadcasting, Damien was part of a popular Hip Hop group called The Shadows, which also featured Hip Hop artist Caper.
