Indigenous rocker Dan Sultan has already enjoyed a dream year, and things just keep getting better, with Dan last night picking up the Best Male Artist award at the 2010 ARIA Awards.
Dan has performed everywhere from The Deadlys to the NRL Grand Final and Hey Hey its Saturday this year, and the award caps a memorable year in which he rode the critical acclaim of his second album ‘Get Out While You Still Can’.
Dan beat out others contender for the award that included Guy Sebastian, John Butler and Paul Dempsey.
He also gave a powerful performance while fronting for INXS on the song Just Keep Walking, a track he also performs on their new album.
This was the first year Dan has ever been nominated for an award at the ARIA Awards, and he thanked his bands, friend and family during his acceptance speech, saying: ‘This is just absolutely crazy. So thank you very much.’
