The VIBE ALIVE festivals were hugely successful in 2008, with fantastic feedback from teachers, students and communities all over Australia.
This is what one of our 2008 teams had to say:
“The festival was FANTASTIC! … Vibe Alive has achieved all it set out to do within our community. The children have come away from the two days with a real sense of achievement and understanding… May every heart you have touched be encouraged forever to believe in themselves and their own abilities”. Tina de Groot – H.O.P.E Project coordinator, Mildura Primary School.
Vibe Alive is a two-day festival for students of all cultures and backgrounds, which gives every child an opportunity to shine! Students are given the chance to sing, dance, play, create and learn in an environment that allows them to express themselves, share their talents and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures while they learn about healthy living, explore career options and boost literacy skills.
Participants also get to meet a brilliant line-up of role models and inspiring celebrities. 2008 celebrities included Australian Idol Casey Donovan, and Courtney Walter, Sermsah Bin Saad and Vanessa Sew Hoy from So You Think You Can Dance?
Vibe Alive is funded by the Australian Government’s Community Festivals for Education Engagement program, designed to encourage school attendance, retention and healthy lifestyles for all young Australians, in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
