So you can get the most out of life! When you’re fit you can pretty much do anything you want.

What do you eat to stay healthy?
I pretty much stick to the basics – I try to eat as many fruits and vegetables as I can, as well as lean meat. But it’s the fruit and vegies that keep me really healthy. I try to cut out all junk food and, as long as I’m eating all the right stuff, my weight usually stays good.

Why do you choose to not drink or smoke?
Mainly because it would hinder or possible even wreck my boxing career. It’s just something I don’t really like doing anyway – I hate smoking. I don’t mind having one or two drinks now and again, but nothing too silly.

Do you get regular medical checkups?
Yeah, you have to as a boxer. I have a medial every year, and blood tests throughout the year. You get niggling injuries as well, and it’s important to see a doctor about these things, because if you just leave it, the problem will just get worse. If I get in early and get something checked out, then the doctor can fix it up right away. When it comes to my health and my body, if I put something off it’s just going to get worse until it affects my boxing.
