Winner: Isabella Higgins
School: Moggill State School (Moggill QLD)
Isabella won the prize by writing a touching story about her best friend Claire. “I can’t imagine life without her,” the 10 year old wrote.
Along with 48 other students, Isabella and her mother Rachael enjoyed a delicious barbecue of sausages, salads and rolls. They were only disappointed that there wasn’t enough to feed the whole school!
The party was joined by ambassador of Indigenous education, Tiga Bails. Tiga came as a representative of the Department of Education, Science and Training. He’s also the general manager of 4AAA radio in Brisbane.
Representing the Vibe team were Black Diamond and former Sydney King’s coach Claude Williams, and Vibe webmistress Denise Wilson. Claude’s mother Hazel and Denise’s sister Corrine were also on hand to help out.
Isabella was also presented with a special prize pack, which included loads of goodies.
